St. Michael & All Angels Cathedral invites the Diocese to share in a cup of coffee or tea to support the PWRDF!

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund’s compassionate outreach, a CAFÉ theme has been launched by PWRDF. CAFÉ symbolizes: C = Celebration, A = Awareness, F = Fundraising, and E = Education. In cooperation with other churches and with broader social networks, PWRDF is a part of a wide faith-based social justice community that comes together to create sustainable communities. PWRDF seeks to be a part of the outreach and social justice ministry of every parish. As part of the PWRDF ministry at St. Michael & All Angels Cathedral, we chose a different sort of PWRDF Lenten fundraiser and are thrilled to announce that this fundraiser is now available to everyone throughout the diocese on an ongoing basis! Not only do we get to support the great work of PWRDF throughout the world, but we also got something very delicious for ourselves! Blenz Coffee (a 100% BC owned company) generously partnered with us on a coffee and tea fundraiser. There are all sorts of premium coffees (decaf, fair trade, bird friendly, organic, mild, and dark) and teas.

Fifty years ago, what is now the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund was formed by Anglicans in response to the coalmine tragedy in Springhill, NS. Since that time PWRDF has worked in partnership with organizations in Canada and throughout the world to support people-centered development that improves the quality of daily life for vulnerable populations, promotes self-reliance, and addresses root causes of poverty and injustice.

Parishes and diocese across Canada will be celebrating this special milestone throughout the year. Everyone throughout the diocese is invited to join in as the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund celebrates 50 years of changing lives, changing communities and changing the world by supporting this coffee fundraiser. Blenz Coffee, through their www.blenzcares.com website is offering this PWRDF fundraiser on an ongoing basis, so you haven't missed out! By selecting PWRDF as your charity of choice, Blenz coffee will send your coffee order directly to you, absorb the shipping costs, and remit the net proceeds to PWRDF. So no matter where you live in Canada you can support this fundraiser. And when you run out of coffee or tea, you can simply go on-line to order more. For assistance with fundraising forms for your parish, or for further information, please contact Deacon Heather Karabelas (Karabelas@telus.net; 250-764-2718) or Kathy Hopps (ihop@shaw.ca; 250-868-5014) or (clfarrow@shaw.ca; 250-769-1484).
